This 90-minute introductory session offers an accessible and practical foundation for understanding tikanga and Māori protocols.
Participants will explore the role of karakia, food blessings, hui and wānanga, marae, and whakawhanaungatanga, with interactive examples that show how these practices can be applied in real workplace and community contexts.
The session equips non-Māori individuals and organisations with the tools and confidence to engage respectfully, building stronger relationships and cultural fluency.

- An understanding of how non-Māori individuals or organisations can authentically engage with tikanga and cultural protocols.
- Increased confidence in recognising and applying tikanga within organisational practice.
- Practical skills to create respectful, values-based engagement with Māori stakeholders, hapu and iwi.
