Join us at the Waikato Regional Diversity Group Hui as we cut through the hype to examine where AI intersects with inclusion - the risks, the opportunities, and the urgent question of who shapes how these tools are used.
Every algorithm encodes a set of values - whose data was used, whose definition of merit was adopted, and whose language is treated as standard. These are inclusion questions whether or not an inclusion professional was in the room when they were decided. And in most organisations, they weren't.
We'll map AI exposure across six critical domains, explore what it takes to bring an inclusion lens to algorithmic decision-making, and outline practical steps you can take immediately.
This isn't a session about technology. It's a session about power, accountability, and who gets to decide what an inclusive workplace looks like when the decision-maker is a machine. Be part of an honest assessment of the role of DEI professionals in the age of AI and why they need to be credible in this space.
Our session in Hamilton will open with morning tea and the chance to network with others in your region who are passionate about creating fair, connected workplaces.
Regional Diversity Group meetings are opportunities to connect kanohi ki te kanohi for group conversations and shared learning.
